Terms & Disclaimer

What a Guardian audit is — and what it isn’t. The terms below govern use of our reports, services, and any analysis we publish.

This page is a plain-language summary of the terms governing Guardian audit reports and services. It is provided for convenience and does not replace any signed engagement agreement between Guardian and a client.

Guardian’s analysis and report

A Guardian audit is neither an endorsement nor a disapproval of any project. Reports do not guarantee that audited code is bug-free, do not warrant absolute security, and do not speak to the economic value or legal/regulatory standing of any audited technology.

Investment and advisory limitations

Guardian reports must not be used as the basis for investment decisions and do not constitute investment advice. The intent of a report is to improve code quality and reduce risk associated with blockchain technology — not to make security guarantees.

Risk acknowledgment and due diligence

Each company and individual is responsible for its own due diligence and for maintaining security on a continuous basis. Guardian seeks to reduce attack surface and surface risks, but cannot guarantee the security or correct functioning of any analyzed system.

Service conditions and technical risk

All services, reports, and materials are provided on an “as-is, where-is, and as-available” basis. Reports may contain false positives, false negatives, or other unpredictable results. Cryptographic tokens and the systems built on top of them carry substantial technical risk and uncertainty.

Smart contract deployment and owner-privilege risk

Smart contracts deployed on a public blockchain remain susceptible to internal and external exploitation regardless of any audit performed. Guardian does not guarantee the security of audited contracts, particularly where active owner privileges, upgradeability, or administrative controls are present.
